The seeds of Beaty construction were sown in February 1965 when Leon Beaty decided to utilize the technical skills he had acquired studying civil engineering at the Indiana Institute of Technology in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and working on highway and bridge designs as an engineer for Pierce, Gruber, and Beam. He believed that these technical skills coupled with the practical experience he had acquired working as an estimator and field engineer for various construction companies would make a successful combination.

He began Leon Beaty construction Company and operated on the south side of Indianapolis. In November 1966, he became incorporated and moved approximately twenty miles southeast of Indianapolis as Beaty Construction, Inc. What began as a small bridge operation has now expanded to a multi-faceted company, which has gross sales of $20 million per year.

Beaty Construction has been in business for over 35 years in the highway and specialty foundation market. We install auger cast piling, driven piles, sheet pile, A.B. Chance helical Piers, and design and install earth-retaining systems. We do difficult underpinning projects such as was involved with the Circle Center Mall in Indianapolis.  

We were the team leader and prime contractor on a one of a kind Indiana Department of Transportation design-build contract in Richmond, Indiana called the Sim Hodgins Parkway. This project involved rock anchors and driven soldier piles for a retention system, with poured architectural concrete for facing. We are also past winner of the Ohio Contractor of the year for our work on Fosters Bridge in Cincinnati, Ohio for the Ohio AGC. Beaty Construction, Inc. also received an “Outstanding Achievement in Concrete, Concrete Restoration,” from the American Concrete Institute for our work on the “G” Street Bridge in Richmond, Indiana.

We are bondable, and have pre-qualification in Indiana Department of Transportation and Ohio Department of Transportation for $30 million per year. I am sure we can help you and the owners you serve with our wide variety of talents.
