Beaty Construction Inc. was founded in February 1965 when Leon Beaty decided to utilize the technical skills he had acquired studying civil engineering at the Indiana Institute of Technology in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and working on highway and bridge designs as an engineer for Pierce, Gruber, and Beam. He believed that these technical skills coupled with the practical experience he had acquired working as an estimator and field engineer for various construction companies would make a successful combination.
He began Leon Beaty construction Company and operated on the south side of Indianapolis. In November 1966, he became incorporated and moved approximately twenty miles southeast of Indianapolis as Beaty Construction, Inc. What began as a small bridge operation has now expanded to a multi-faceted company, able to take on almost any sized project.
